We are looking for a front-end JavsScript developer who gets excited about creating elegant, scalable, robust and maintainable solutions to complex problems. You’ll be developing on good kit alongside a friendly team at our Manchester HQ and around the UK who share the same qualities. Our large customer base is growing quickly and so this is a great opportunity to work with highly scalable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with designers and other developers to take a design from the whiteboard to reality
  • Rapidly iterate on product features
  • Implement robust, secure, efficient and maintainable code for our applications
  • Embed test cases for the application logic
  • Correct bugs and other technical issues in our existing applications to keep technical debt to a minimum
  • Stay up-to-date with application development trends and look for opportunities to take advantage of these in our applications and development processes

Requirements

  • BSc or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong in JavaScript
  • Experience using a front-end JavaScript framework like Ember, Angular, React, Backbone or similar
  • Understand that resolving issues is just as important as building new features
  • Hands-on, passionate and persistent
  • Comfortable in a small, high-growth start-up environment

For bonus points

  • Experience with large scale web applications
  • Solid understanding of the full web technology stack (e.g. HTTP protocol, status codes, cookies, headers, asset loading / caching)
  • Great designer instincts and pretty handy with CSS, SASS
  • Java, Scala and TypeScript experience
  • Git mastery
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux
