About the role

Our business produces a whole world of opportunity when it comes to data - now we just need you to help give it some meaning, identify trends and discover the stories behind that data. The important work you do will help to support the rest of the team to identify business opportunities and risks, as well as play a key part in influencing important decisions. Most importantly, your contribution will enable us to keep our wonderful customers, who are at the core of everything we do, happy.

You will have the ideal platform and ongoing encouragement to develop expertise in areas such as quantitative analysis, data-mining and work towards becoming a highly skilled Data Scientist. With our support, we want you to become an expert at interpreting and deriving actionable insights from data, as well as advancing in machine and predictive learning further down the line.

Because we are an established and successful technology company we have 10 years worth of data and users from more than 15,000 businesses logging in daily - meaning that the data you are analysing is at a scale which can be used to derive meaningful and statistically significant insights.

About you

  • Analytical mindset coupled with great communication skills in order to work with both technical teams and business users
  • Proactiveness with the ability to learn quickly
  • Curious nature, asking lots of questions
  • Exceptional at problem-solving
  • Eagerness to analyse and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
  • Ability to recognise and adopt best practices when it comes to reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with visualisation / BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio would be a bonus
  • Passionate about creating dashboards, visualisations and data insights that can be used by the rest of the business
  • Confident building models and analysing data using a programming language such as R or Python.
  • Knowledge of SQL would be helpful, although not essential
  • Hold a degree in either a quantitative or computational field
  • Positive outlook with a “can-do” approach to things
